Karen Platt

Karen has always been creative - knitting, textiles, photography, painting and digital art are her focus. Her interests are colour, texture, stitch, art, design and history. She hand-dyes and creates quilts, knits and paints. At school she was told she was born to be a teacher and her qualifications include art and design, B.A (Hons) Spanish and a PostGrad Certificate in Education. She has taught subjects from languages to design at all levels to all ages. She has taught within the educational system and devised her own quilting and textiles courses for online teaching. Karen will be at the Festival of Quilts, NEC, Birmingham, 8-12 August 2018 on Stand C5. With her enthusiastic, flexible approach, she believes she can bring out the creative potential in anyone.
