I am a French textile artist and I live in Brittany, on the west coast of the country.
Playing with fabrics since my childhood, I started quilting 30 years ago with traditional quilting but have now moved on to Contemporary and Art Quilts.
I love to introduce hand printing, new techniques and medias to modify the surface of the fabric I use, and I also like to hand-dye my own fabrics.
My quilts are inspired by nature, landscapes and photos taken when I am travelling. Oriental architecture and historical facts are also a source of inspiration for me.
Having been a librarian in “a previous life”, I like books and paper. That is why working in a sketchbook to plan a quilt and experiment on paper are very important for me.
When I am not making quilts or preparing an exhibition, I am teaching, in France or abroad. I enjoy these opportunities to meet new people and share my knowledge.
I have a diploma in Creative textiles with City & Guilds.
I am a member of the French National Guild, of the British National Guild, and SAQA.
I belong to an online international textile group “Fifteen by Fifteen” (www.fifteenquilts.com)
