Eco Prints & Natural Dyes
Learn the art of eco printing with this ever popular, friendly workshop. Use leaves from different local landscapes to experiment and eco dye silk, wool, cotton and beautiful vintage French Linen. Opportunities to enhance printed work/resists with hand and machine embroidery are encouraged. Iron, copper, rust and indigo printing and dyeing are at your disposal!

Layers, Lines and Images
A hands on, experimental approach with a strong emphasis on using found materials and inventive applications of textile and mixed media processes. You will use different approaches to assembling textile collage by combining textiles with found materials, (lace, paper, string etc.). You will be encouraged to investigate mark making, dye and painting techniques with cloth and paper and use ‘Wet Applique’: Layering, bonding and piecing methods. You will develop stitching skills in order to sketch and mark-make. (A technician at West Dean college where she regularly teaches in England described her work as 'Extreme Stitching')

Arrive on 1st October and depart on 5th October.
During this long weekend workshop and using inspiration from natural forms and a multi-media approach with dye, print, stitch and manipulation, peep into the secret world of nature. Create beautiful textile art against the backdrop of Autumnal landscapes of South-West France and the farmhouse, orchard and garden at Sweet Nothings.
